PANO – The Military Zone 5 Command opened a course on technical training for officers of Military Zone 1 of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on October 22 in Da Nang city.
During the two-month course, Vietnamese defense engineers and specialists are to provide general knowledge and principles of weapons, ammunitions and vehicles, and train skills of repairing specific kinds of weapons and vehicles.

The theory classes and practices will mainly take place in Technical Workshops 38 and 387 under the Technical Department of Military Zone 5.
The course is part of the cooperation program between Vietnam’s Military Zone 5 and Cambodia’s Military Zone 1.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Commander of Military Zone 5, Major General Thai Dai Ngoc stated that the unity and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia have lasted for many years and are now continuously developing; the two armies shoulder by shoulder fought the common enemies in the past and are now supporting each other in the national development and defense of each country.
In this context, Vietnam’s Military Zone 5 and Cambodia’s Military Zone 1 are boosting effective cooperation, he stressed, “We try our best to support and collaborate with Cambodia’s Military Zone 1 and three Northeast provinces in cementing unity and friendship between the two sides for mutual benefits of the two nations, actively contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.”
