Education and training - a highlight of Vietnam-India defense ties: Vietnamese senior officer
PANO - Together with the fruitful development of the bilateral relationship, the defense ties between Vietnam and India have been tightened in fields such as delegation exchanges, education and training, defense industry and naval cooperation with education and training as a focal point, said Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong.
General Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, made this observation on August 28 while receiving Air Marshal Jasjit Singh Kler, Commandant of the National Defense Academy of India, who is on a working visit to Vietnam, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense.
General Huong emphasized that Vietnam and India are enjoying a time-honored relationship that has been fostered by the two countries’ generations of leadership.
He also held that the army and people of Vietnam have always been grateful for and respected the assistance from the army and people of India in its cause of national salvation and in the present cause of national construction and development.
Agreeing with the host’s evaluation of the two countries’ friendship and defense ties, the Air Marshal informed the host of the situation of Vietnamese officers who are studying at the Indian National Defense Academy.
The Indian officer spoke highly of the Vietnamese officers and believed that they would make active contributions to the development of the Vietnam People’s Army and the cooperation between the two militaries.
