On February 3, the delegation attended the opening ceremony and conducted bilateral activities. The presence of the Vietnamese delegation has affirmed the Government and Defense Ministry’s commitment to strengthening international defense industry cooperation based on equality, mutual benefit, and adherence to law.
* On the sidelines of the event, General Chien held bilateral meeting with Chan Heng Kee, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Singapore.
During the meeting, General Chien congratulated the host on the successful organization of the airshow and expressed delight at the comprehensive development of bilateral ties. The Deputy Defense Minister urged Chan Heng Kee to continue promoting substantive and effective defense relations. Key areas of focus include maintaining delegation exchanges at all levels and dialogue mechanisms; enhancing service-to-service collaboration, training, maritime security, search and rescue, military medicine, logistics, and intelligence sharing. He also called for close coordination in non-traditional security and mutual support at multilateral forums.
Permanent Secretary Chan Heng Kee affirmed that defense cooperation is a pillar in the sound relationship between the two countries. He expressed hope that both sides would further boost comprehensive cooperation, particularly in naval affairs, training, and cybersecurity.

* At the exhibition, General Chien met with defense leaders from various countries and visited booths of leading defense industry corporations from Singapore, France, the U.S., Japan, Israel, and the Czech Republic, among others. He proposed that the partners enhance exchanges and explore cooperation opportunities suited to each side’s capabilities and needs.
* On the same day, General Chien witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) and ST Engineering (Singapore’s leading technology and defense group) and Honeywell (a U.S. multinational corporation).
