Defense chiefs of Vietnam, China visit Fangchenggang international medical pilot zone
PANO - On March 19, as part of the ongoing 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, Vietnamese and Chinese Defense Ministers General Phan Van Giang and Senior Lieutenant General Dong Jun, together with delegations from both countries, visited Fangchenggang international medical pilot zone in China.
Regarded as the “No.1 project” of Fangchenggang city, the zone showcases development achievements across three key sectors, namely medicine, healthcare services, and pharmaceuticals.
The site features a medical pilot zone exhibition area and a traditional medicine exhibition area. The medical pilot zone exhibition area provides a comprehensive overview of the zone’s planning and development layout, as well as its regular cooperation and exchanges with member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and ASEAN countries. It also visually presents key milestones in the zone’s development.
The traditional medicine exhibition area highlights abundant medicinal resources derived from flora and fauna in the Gulf of Tonkin and the Shiwandashan mountain range. It underscores the area’s unique geographical advantages and rich resources for developing traditional medicine sector with distinct ethnic characteristics, particularly the “Food and medicine homology” concept, thereby promoting international exchange and cooperation in traditional medicine.
