Expressing his impression on the VPA’s development, Colonel Román Osvaldo Jiménez Ortega shared that the Armed Forces of Revolutionary Cuba always admire the traditions and obtained achievements of the VPA. The revolutionary heroism of the VPA has been shaped by strict discipline, creativity, bravery, determination, and close ties with people. During the past 80 years, Uncle Ho’s soldiers have always been steadfast on all fronts, loyal to the Party, filial to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice themselves for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, while continuously promoting international solidarity. “The virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers are an outstanding military cultural value of Vietnam and the world,” he emphasized the Colonel.

Colonel Román Osvaldo Jiménez Ortega underscored that the VPA has preserved and upheld the heroic traditions; developed a glorious cause, and served as the core force in building a strong whole-people’s defense system. The current generation of officers and soldiers is building a more modern VPA, with synergy and high combat readiness, being exemplary in building the whole-people’s defense system and accomplishing noble international duties. They are the successors of previous generations, carrying high responsibility in preserving and promoting the revolutionary achievements, making active contribution to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
The Cuban military, naval and air attaché to Vietnam affirmed that despite being half a world away, Vietnam and Cuba are as close as brothers. The relations between Cuba and Vietnam have been nurtured for 64 years, since the two countries established diplomatic ties (December 2, 1960 - 2024). Overcoming all challenges of time and circumstances, the Vietnam-Cuba relations have become a model of loyalty. Based on the good foundation of the two countries' relations, in addition to other cooperation fields, bilateral defense cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba has always been promoted.

He stated that the cooperative relations between the Armed Forces of Revolutionary Cuba and the VPA have constantly strengthened and developed, becoming a pillar in the relationship between the two countries. Both sides have obtained outstanding outcomes in delegation exchanges, training, the Party and political work. Colonel Román Osvaldo Jiménez Ortega highly values both sides' focus on educating young officers on the special traditional friendship between Cuba and Vietnam. The exchange and experience sharing have helped the young officers from both countries cherish, preserve, and promote the spirit of solidarity and the legacies left by previous generations in the relations between the two countries.
On behalf of the Cuban revolutionary armed forces, Colonel Román Osvaldo Jiménez Ortega sent thanks to the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam for its support and conveyed the best wishes to the VPA on the 80th anniversary of its establishment.
