Opportunity to popularize Vietnam’s capabilities
The Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 will take place from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Airport, Hanoi. This is the second time Vietnam has organized the international defense exhibition since the first time in 2022.

According to Colonel Viengxay Soulivong, the organization of the event will offer Vietnam an opportunity to popularize technological capabilities, weapons, and equipment produced by Vietnam; the significant contribution and strong development of Vietnam's defense industry, contributing to building defense potential and strengthening the power to protect the Fatherland, creating trust among people, the military, and international friends. Meanwhile, it is also an occasion for Vietnam to welcome international friends and introduce the culture, art, country, and people of Vietnam - a peace-loving and hospitable nation.
Colonel Viengxay Soulivong emphasized that the expo not only creates an opportunity for Vietnam to promote military-defense cooperation with other countries in the region and the world, but also for policymakers in defense, defense industry and security enterprises to meet and exchange, as well as promote cooperation towards a world of peace, cooperation, and prosperity.
For his part, Colonel Mick Jansen stressed that the expo is an important event, showing Vietnam’s capability to the world.
Highlights
The Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 is larger in scale compared to 2022. Colonel Viengxay Soulivong believed that this demonstrates the growing appeal of the event organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense. The fact that many high-level international delegations and foreign defense companies have registered to participate in the expo and showcase the latest products and technologies in defense and security show their trust, friendly relations, cooperation, and development, and sentiments towards Vietnam.
According to Colonel Mick Jansen, the organization of the second expo shows Vietnam's peaceful defense policy and self-defense, spreading the message of “Vietnam is a friend to all countries”. The participation of enterprises and delegates from all over the world is a highlight of this year’s expo.
