Arts-and-letters composition movement on Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia solidarity launched
PANO - On March 31, the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) launched a movement to stimulate composition of arts and literature works on "the solidarity in combating shared enemies among Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia."
Present at the launching ceremony were Lt. Gen. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, representatives of relevant agencies of the Ministry of National Defense and the Central Party Committee's Commission for Information and Education, and the arts-and-letters associations.

The movement, running till the end of this year, aims to promote friendship and cooperation among the three countries, and popularize the glorious traditions and close bonds among the three armies through valuable works of literature, songs, posters, photos and documentary scripts. It is part of the activities to mark the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation, the 55th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties and the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Nghia stressed that this is the first time the VPA has organized such a large-scale composition movement with the participation of the armies of the three countries. Therefore, the contest will mark an important milestone in the solidarity, friendship and cooperation among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, he said.

All entries should highlight the solidarity in combat among the VPA, the Lao People’s Army and the Cambodian Royal Armed Forces as well as friendship among the three peoples in both wartime and peacetime. The deadline for entries is September 20 this year.
