An Giang to host Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship exchange
PANO – The 2019 Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship exchange will take place in Chau Doc city and at the Tinh Bien International Border Gate in Tinh Bien district, An Giang province on August 27 and 28.
On August 18, Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, inspected relevant units' preparations for the upcoming event.
Reportedly, the Vietnamese delegation participating in the event will be led by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defense Minister, while the Cambodian side will be led by the head, General Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander the Royal Cambodian Army.
The event’s agenda comprises of a border marker saluting ceremony, a joint patrol session, a tree-planting festival, and a joint exercise on fighting drug trafficking and crimes.
After a comprehensive inspection, General Chien underlined that the Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship exchange is one of this year’s important border external affairs.
He highly valued the efforts of the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command in preparing for the program, and asked them to learn from previous border exchanges held in Vietnam so as to ensure the Vietnam-Cambodia border friendship exchange's success.
He requested functional forces to promptly complete the construction of a Vietnam-Cambodia Border friendship culture house so it can be unveiled under the framework of the exchange.
