The report presented by the leaders of the Department of Foreign Relations under the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the 8th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, held in Lao Cai (Vietnam) and Yunnan (China) from April 11 to 12, 2024, was highly successful. It left a profound impression and continued to contribute significantly to the promotion of friendship and solidarity between the militaries and people of the two countries.
The year 2024 also marks the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange. Since its inception in 2014, despite facing numerous challenges, the exchange has become an annual event in the border provinces of both countries. It has evolved in both content and form with many meaningful and practical activities, garnering support from the leaders and people of both nations as well as the attention of international community. Through each exchange program, the defense ties between Vietnam and China has witnessed positive developments, further deepening the relationship between the two countries and the two militaries.

In his concluding remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien highlighted reasons for the success of the 8th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, as well as previous exchange programs. These include the leadership of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, thorough preparation, close coordination, diverse content and forms, effective communication, and absolute security and security.
