During the talk, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and E.U. High Representative Josep Borrell agreed to push up the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the E.U. on par with their potential and better meet the joint interests of both sides.

Meanwhile, they consented to deepen the ASEAN – E.U. cooperation, and expand collaboration in various fields of energy, climate change adaptation, green transition, digital economy, and infrastructure.

Also, the two sides exchanged views on international and regional issues of shared concern.

The E.U. High Representative took note of Vietnam’s request to soon remove the European Commission’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood exports for illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, and push for E.U. member countries to soon ratify the E.U.-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).

On the same day, the Vietnamese diplomat had a phone talk with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijiártó.

During the talk, the pair affirmed the significance of the Vietnam-Hungary comprehensive partnership, and progress in the bilateral cooperation over the past time, with the regular exchange of delegations at all levels, including high level ones.

Both sides pledged to exploit fully their strengths and potentials, and step up coordination in an effective manner in the time to come.

In addition, the two countries will work hand in hand to make thorough preparation for the 10th meeting of the Vietnam – Hungary Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation in the coming time.
