Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh presented the Friendship Order to Dr. Jonathan Koon-shum Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group and Sunwah Foundation in Hanoi on March 27th.

The special service award was granted to Dr. Jonathan Choi in recognition of his great contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and trade promotion between Vietnam and Hongkong.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Jonathan Choi expressed his honor to receive the noble award and said Sunwah would continue to work for the growth and prosperity in Vietnam. He also thanked Vietnamese government for having rendered tremendous support to himself and Sunwah which has become one of the leading foreign corporations in Vietnam.

Sunwah Groups is a Hongkong based diversified conglometerate with business in six principle areas- seafood and foodstuff, real estate, financial services, infrastructure, technology and media.

Sunwah has invested in Vietnam for 45 years. The rapid economic development in Vietnam in recent years has resulted in significant increase in Sunwah Group’s investment in Vietnam.

The Friendship Order is a special service award, conferred by the State of Vietnam for foreign individuals or organization that have merits in forging, consolidating and developing friendship between Vietnam and other countries in the world.
