“For me Vietnam is always very special. I share my knowledge and experience with Vietnamese friends and my family follows some Vietnamese cultural elements,” said Dominique Guilmin to a reporter from Radio the Voice of Vietnam during her business trip back home in France’s Northwestern coastal city of Etables-sur-mer.

Dominique Guilmin is now working at the Provincial Council of Cote d'Amor in Northwestern France. She is in charge of boosting cooperation between her province with Vietnam’s central Nghe An province. She has also adopted a Vietnamese son.

For her, Vietnam is always of particular interest to her as she enjoys an open and friendly society in Vietnam with unique cultural values.

Guilmin is actively involved in promoting the Cote d’Armor-Nghe An ties.

Since 1993 when the two provinces officially started cooperation, the main focus mainly on exchanging information and experience in the fields of tourism, economics, agriculture, sustainable development, education, health care and culture.

Guilmin expressed her pleasure at the rapidly growing cooperation between the two provinces in recent year. “We have been implementing a number of projects in various sectors between the two provinces,” she said. “Some of them are expected to pay off well.”

Guilmin said she plans to contribute more to the development. “I always want to promote this cooperation. This is the main reason for my active engagements in most of the programmes and projects. My only concern is find more suitable and efficient ways to further enhance cooperation,” she said.
