Seminar discusses ways to lift Vietnam-Japan’s relationship to a new height
PANO - An international scientific conference entitled “Development of Vietnam-Japan ties: History and Prospects” was held on September 21 in Hanoi by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi.
The meeting drew the participation of Professor, Doctor Nguyen Xuan Thang, a member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio; Vietnamese and Japanese managers and scientists.
It is part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties (September 21, 1973).
The conference evaluated that over the past 45 years, undergoing difficulties and challenges, the friendship between Vietnam and Japan has enjoyed ceaseless development for new, effective and practical cooperation.
Besides, the two countries have upgraded their reliable, long-term stable relationship to a strategic partnership and now an intensive strategic partnership.
Speeches delivered at the meeting confirmed that to cement the flourishing bilateral ties, Vietnam and Japan should boost their cooperation in different fields and promote the intensive strategic partnership in a practical manner on the basis of consolidating their strategic trust and comprehensive cooperation while improving the efficiency of economic connectivity and cooperation and strongly supporting each other in their efforts to contribute to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Besides, development support from Japan to Vietnam in new strategic cooperation programs should be promoted for more efficiency.
Furthermore, Vietnam and Japan should bolster their cooperation in culture, social affairs, personnel training, people-to-people exchange, so as to boost mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples.
