President Ho Chi Minh – friend of Romania
For Romanian people, President Ho Chi Minh is a big friend who laid a firm foundation for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, heard a recent workshop in the country’s capital Bucharest.
The event was held to celebrate 60 years of the President’s State-level visit to Romania in August 1957 and the 67th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Romania diplomatic ties in February 1950.

Speaking at the workshop themed “President Ho Chi Minh and people around the world”, Vietnamese Ambassador to Romania Tran Thanh Cong highlighted the contributions of the Vietnamese great leader to the cause of national liberation and the enhancement of friendship between Vietnam and other countries.
Professor Radu Musetescu from Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies under the Department of International Economic Relations said he was impressed by Vietnam’s socio-economic accomplishments and its people’s hospitality.
Meanwhile, Director of the One-up company Marius Camber described Vietnam as an attractive market to foreign investors, including those from Romania.
He called on businesses of the two countries to seize investment opportunities.
The workshop also screened a documentary about President Ho Chi Minh.
A photo exhibition titled “President Ho Chi Minh and Romanian people” was held to introduce photos and documents on the historical visit of the President to Romania from August 17-21, 1957, as well as feature Vietnam’s protection of sea and island sovereignty in the 20th and early 21st century.
