He briefed his host about the outcomes of his talks with Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, reiterating that promoting the healthy and stable development of the countries’ friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership is in line with the basic and long-term interests of the two peoples while benefiting regional and global peace, stability and development.
The Vietnamese leader asked the NPCC and the Vietnamese National Assembly to enhance exchanging legislative experience and supervising and speeding up their respective Governments’ realization of the common perceptions and agreements reached between the countries’ senior leaders.
The two sides should increase coordination and mutual support at regional and global inter-parliamentary forums, and work closely in ensuring the execution of international treaties to which both countries are parties for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Valuing the importance of Trong’s official visit to China, Zhang congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development outcomes last year and wished it more development in the future.
He also spoke highly of the progress in the countries’ relations and cooperation between the two parliaments, stressing that the Chinese Party, Government and NPCC treasure and want to continually strengthen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam.
They want both sides to well control and handle existing disagreements and determinedly not let those affect the overall sound relationship between the two Parties and nations.
Zhang noted his NPCC is well aware of its responsibility for contributing to the healthy and positive development of bilateral ties. It will certainly coordinate more closely with the Vietnamese National Assembly, work harder to bolster cooperation, and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Chinese businesses and people to step up exchanges and economic partnership, thereby helping to solidify the two peoples’ political trust and amity.
