At 9:30 am, an official welcome ceremony for the Vietnamese Government leader took place solemnly at the Office of the Lao Prime Minister.

Over the past days, Lao newspapers have run numerous articles praising the Vietnam-Laos relationship, affirming that the visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will create a new momentum for the two countries to deepen their ties.

The article of Pasaxon newspaper issued on April 26 wrote that PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to Laos takes place when the two Parties, States and peoples are actively preparing for activities marking the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

It helps strengthen and expand the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, according to the article.

Meanwhile, the Lao Phatthana newspaper’s article wrote that the Vietnam-Laos special relationship has developed fruitfully in all spheres over the past time, with consolidated political-diplomatic ties and effective implementation of joint statements and high-level agreements reached by leaders of the two Parties and States.

The visit will boost the Vietnam-Laos traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation in an intensive, practical and effective manner.

“Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit will create a new momentum for the Vietnam-Laos special relationship” is the title of an article run on Pathet Lao newspaper on April 26.

According to the article, Vietnam’s investment has greatly contributed to boosting Laos’ socio-economic development and creating jobs for locals. So far, 408 Vietnamese projects with a total investment capital of USD 3.7 billion have been licensed in Laos.

Other newspapers of Laos such as Vientiane Mai and Vientiane Times also featured the visit by PM Phuc and his wife.

In addition, the Lao National Radio and Television Stations spent much time covering the visit, affirming it will further deepen the bilateral ties.
