Defense Ministry builds Vietnam - China Border Friendship Cultural House in Ban Phiet

PANO – The Lao Cai provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Bao Thang district and party committee and authorities of Ban Phiet commune, organized a ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the Vietnam - China Border Friendship Cultural House on October 14 in Ban Phiet hamlet.

The event was attended by representatives of the Lao Cai provincial Border Guard Command, Bao Thang district, Ban Phiet commune, and ethnic people in Ban Phiet commune.

Ban Phiet is one of the 26 border communes, wards, and townlets in Lao Cai province. The commune is home to 14 ethnic minority groups. The construction of the Vietnam - China Border Friendship Cultural House demonstrates the sentiment of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Vietnam Border Guard Command, and troops in the whole military for party committee, authorities, and ethnic minority people in Ban Phiet commune.

The project is built on a total area of 1,221.7sq.m and scheduled to be completed in early next year. The construction cost is estimated at VND 20 billion from the Ministry of National Defense.
