The checkpoint had been closed for more than three months as an effort to keep the COVID-19 outbreak at bay.
The Mong Cai Border Gate’s Bac Luan II checkpoint also resumed operation on June 26 after a two-month closure because of the same reason. By June 2, close to 43,000 tons of cargo had been cleared via the checkpoint.
The two checkpoints are open from 8:00 a.m. to 16:00 p.m. (Hanoi time) daily.
Quang Ninh has started inoculating the fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccines on vulnerable adults. Priority is given to workers at coal mines and industrial factories, health workers and front-liners.
By the end of May, over 96 percent of people aged 18 and above in Quang Ninh had been vaccinated with three doses while more than 98 percent of children aged 12 – 17 had received two doses.
