The US’s Ford Vietnam has announced a voluntary recall of 728 units of the EcoSport made between December 29, 2014 and March 10, 2015 to rectify suspension issues, said Lao Dong (Labour) Newspapers.

The carmaker is inspecting the Rear Twist Beam (RTB) bolt on the unit due to a possibility that the bolt may not have been tightened to specifications in some of the affected vehicles, which might cause the pivot bolt to break and hamper the vehicle’s driveability, increasing the risk of an accident.

Ford Vietnam has already started contacting the concerned customers to get their vehicles inspected at a local Ford dealer. All the necessary work will be carried out for free by the company.

The company also said no accidents related to the issue had been reported.

The recall campaign will go from January 29 to January 6, 2018. Inspection and bolt replacement for each car are expected to take two hours.
