Director of the National Innovation Center Vu Quoc Huy noted that brands that won the Better Choice Awards demonstrated that their products met community and expert trust standards for safety and quality.
The Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) received the highest number of votes from the audience (113,293) in the nomination category, placing it first out of 26 firms nationwide, and was recognized as a sustainable brand at the Better Choice Awards 2023.
Regarding the infrastructure, Viettel owns 12 labs, two testing areas, and two international standard production lines. In terms of technology, the group has a diverse product and service ecosystem with 270 core technologies completely owned, researched, and developed by Viettel staff and more than 50 products in 10 high-tech defense industries; 4G and 5G infrastructure on all three network layers (radio access network, transmission network and core network). In particular, Viettel announced the successful research of the first Made-by-Vietnam 5G chip, in which Viettel masters the entire process.
In term of patent ownership, Viettel ranks No.1 in Vietnam in registering and granting industrial property licenses. Currently, Viettel owns 116 patents in Vietnam and 29 patents in the U.S. It is also a leading enterprise in the fields of AI, cloud computing, IoT, Big Data... with platforms such as the Viettel AI Open Platform, Viettel Cloud ecosystem with 70 products, Viettel IoT Innoway platform helping connect billions of devices in real time... In the field of cyber security, Viettel is proud to be the No.1 in Vietnam with 8 services and 15 products, protecting different kinds of users.
In the past 10 years, Viettel’s annual contribution to the State budget has increased by 179.7%, from VND 13,586 billion in 2013 to VND 38,000 billion last year. It is the only Vietnamese enterprise on the list of the top 500 most valuable brands in the world, according to the Brand Finance’s report.
