The company said that its network capacity in this area could serve over 100,000 subscribers at the same time, doubling the stadium's capacity.

Accordingly, the military-run mobile service provider installed 40 small base transceiver stations (BTSs) with narrow beam antennas on the stadium’s roofs. Notably, these kinds of BTSs are widely used at big stadiums worldwide such as Bernabeu (Marid, Spain), Wembley (London, the U.K.) and Levi’s (California, the U.S.).

Since it first operation at My Dinh stadium in 2008, Viettel is the only company in Vietnam to operate this modern technology system.

Meanwhile, Viettel set three mobile telecom vehicles and five more BTSs outside the stadium as well as re-arranged the coverage of services of 10 surrounding BTSs.

The company set up BTSs at four corners and 20 wifi routers at four stands of the stadium. They also installed three-element beam antennas at the stadium gates.

General Director of Viettel Network Corporation Dao Xuan Vu held that matches of the Vietnamese men's national football team at My Dinh National Stadium have become a major event in the country. Thus, Viettel always offers its best solutions and equipment to serve local fans. This is also a way for Viettel to stand by fans to encourage the players.
