Through studying the scientific research movement and participation in the Military Creative Youth Awards at Viettel, over the past years, the Party Committee and unit leadership have consistently identified science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as central political tasks with long-term strategic significance. Therefore, the participation in the awards is not treated as a mere formality, but has become a genuine intellectual playground for discovering, nurturing and challenging young scientific talents.

According to Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Linh, Viettel Deputy Political Chief, from that perspective, the movement for scientific research, innovation and technical improvement among the unit’s youth has been organized systematically and synchronously, with many flexible and effective approaches. Research topics and initiatives have focused on cutting-edge technological fields such as artificial intelligence, telecommunications, digital technology, semiconductors and big data. At the same time, all research projects originate from practical requirements, closely tied to specific situations in production, system operations or the development of new services, thereby creating clear practical value.

Another notable feature at Viettel is that leaders at all levels boldly entrust major responsibilities to young officers. Young engineers and scientists not only participate in projects but also take leading roles in many large-scale studies and initiatives, directly designing, testing and deploying products. Through this process, young scientists rapidly improve their professional expertise while gradually developing the mindset needed to master technologies and build self-reliance in the high-tech sector.

To deepen the scientific research movement among the group’s youth, the unit has also effectively maintained programs such as “Viettel Young Creativity” and “Innovation and Idea Initiatives,” thereby creating a rich pool of research topics as a basis for selecting entries for the Military Creative Youth Awards.

Among the notable initiatives is the project “Multimodal AI Model for Detecting Face Forgery,” led by non-commissioned Senior Captain Vu Thi Hanh, Head of the Technology and Engineering Lab Division at Viettel Academy. The project features highly accurate detection of deepfake and biometric spoofing and has already been deployed in practice with more than 60 million authentication attempts, helping prevent fraud within the digital ecosystem.

In digital technology, the project “Research and Development of the vOCS 4.0 Charging System Based on NFV Architecture,” led by Major Nguyen Duc Hai of the Viettel High Technology Industries Corporation, developed a cloud-native core charging system that meets 5G standards with large-scale processing capability and high availability. The system has been deployed across the entire Viettel network, serving approximately 100 million subscribers and completely replacing foreign solutions.

Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Linh shared that at the 25th Military Creative Youth Awards, the youth of Viettel submitted 33 projects and initiatives, of which 11 won awards, including three first prizes and two second prizes. For the 26th edition of the awards, the unit’s youth have also submitted a large number of projects, many of which have been highly evaluated.

With a systematic approach and comprehensive support from the group’s leadership, the scientific research movement among Viettel’s youth is expected to continue achieving remarkable successes in the coming years, producing outstanding projects that clearly reflect the intellect and creativity of Vietnam’s younger generation in high-tech fields, thereby contributing to the building of a modern military and the sustainable development of the country in the new era.
