Vietnam, China join teleconference on agricultural trade
PANO - The Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) and the Council for the Promotion of International Trade of Chongqing (CCPIT Chonqing) jointly held a Vietnam - China teleconference on farm produce, fisheries, and food trade on June 16 and 17.
The event attracted the participation of over 60 Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises related to agriculture. The conference introduced agricultural products, processed food, confectionery, and beverages.
Addressing the event, Le Hoang Tai, VIETRADE’s Deputy Director General affirmed that China is Vietnam’s largest market among more than 200 countries and territories.

Especially, Vietnam has close trade ties with many Chinese cities and provinces, including Chongqing. Earlier, VIETRADE also established a trade promotion office in Jiangbei district, Chongqing city, in 2015 to help Chinese enterprises seek long-term opportunities with Vietnamese partners.
The VIETRADE’s Deputy Director General also expressed his hope that CCPIT Chongqing will work closely with VIETRADE to diversify trade and exchanges between the two sides.
For his part, Liu Xiaojiang, Deputy Director General of CCPIT Chongqing, affirmed that this program contributed to promoting trade ties between the two sides. He also committed to creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese companies to do business in the city.
During the teleconference, Vietnamese and Chinese companies joined online trade sessions, lasting until June 19, to share information and seek business opportunities.
