U23 footballers meet fans in Ho Chi Minh City
PANO – Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and over 20,000 local fans welcomed the Vietnam U23 football team, led by coach Park Hang-seo, at Thong Nhat Stadium in District 10 on February 4.
The ceremony was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports in association with the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).

The event aimed to congratulate the national U23 team on their exemplary achievements at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship and also create an opportunity for the city’s fans to exchange with the footballers.
At the exchange, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Nguyen Thanh Phong handed over flowers and VND 2 billion in cash to the team. Additionally, coach Park Hang-seo and other team members were also given gifts and money from local sponsors.
Earlier, the U23 football team laid wreaths and paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his statue on Nguyen Hue walking street.
Previously, the national team participated in a home-welcoming celebration at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi with the participation of more than 40,000 fans.
