Top Vietnamese chess player named No.29 in world rankings
Top Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem has risen four places, from No.33 to No.29, in FIDE’s world rankings for April.

His Elo rating also jumped from 2712 to 2726, the best Elo rating in Vietnamese chess history. (The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in competitor-versus-competitor games such as chess).
Liem won the international chess tournament, HD Bank 2017, held in Ho Chi Minh City and the College Final Four held in the US.
His career best ranking was No.27 in April of 2013.
Other Vietnamese representatives Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and Tran Tuan Minh ranked 149th and 524th in the world, with Elo ratings of 2623 and 2534, respectively.
