THACO Marathon to bring athletes through historical places
PANO - THACO Marathon will take place on February 12 in Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province, announced the organizing panel on February 6.
The event will be jointly organized by the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Transport Newspaper, the People’s Committee of Sa Thay district and sponsored by Truong Hai Auto Corp (THACO).

THACO Marathon is an activity within the “Traffic Safety Year 2023” and to mark the 110th founding anniversary of Kon Tum province (February 9, 1913 – 2023).
The event is expected to attract the participation of 1,000 athletes competing in 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km categories. Proceeds from the event will be handed to the Fund for Traffic Safety.
Apart from strengthening sporting movement, THACO Marathon aims to spread the message, “Traffic safety – Happiness for all families,” to participants.
Notably, in this year's tournament, athletes will run on the marching route of troops of the Vietnam People's Army in the historic 1972 Spring-Summer campaign in Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province to feel the spirit of the Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
In particular, the 42km category will take participants through historical places such as Hill 1015 (Charlie Hill) and Hill 1049 (Delta Hill).
Winners of categories will be presented with cash, worth VND 50 million in total, and insignias.
