This year marks the organization of many diverse foreign cultural activities to introduce Vietnam around the world. A year ago, the world was facing the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which froze all socio-economic, cultural, sports, and tourism activities. In this situation, the EXPO 2020 Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) brought together 192 participating countries and territories, including Vietnam. Vietnam took advantage of the opportunity to participate in the exhibition, leaving good impressions on the organizing panel and participating nations.

Vietnamese art performances impressing foreigners |
The achievements were made possible by the country's tremendous efforts both before and during the expo. From October 1, 2021, to March 3, 2022, amid the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam conveyed the message of a country rich in cultural identity, ready for innovation and integration.
During the event, Vietnam held the first Vietnamese film week in the Middle East, introduced Hoi An, Ha Long Bay; an art performance themed “The Eternal Flow,” among others. Via the EXPO 2020 Dubai, international tourists also knew that Vietnam would be opened for international visitors from March 15, 2022.
During the expo, Vietnam’s determination was highly appreciated by the organizing panel. Reportedly, many countries postponed marching performances. However, Vietnam celebrated its National Day in a flexible manner, affirming the cultural imprint and attracting international friends while introducing the Vietnamese culture and image.
Vietnam’s great efforts during the EXPO 2020 Dubai made impressions on participants and the organizing panel. The Vietnam Exhibition Hall attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors and was broadcast by CNN, Sky TV, Dubai TV, among others. Especially, Vietnam was honored to welcome Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, King of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
This event helped spread the image of Vietnam when it held great significance in Dubai and the UAE. At the end of the exhibition, the Vietnam exhibitor, chaired by the Department of International Cooperation, received the bronze award for the exhibitor with the best interpretation.
The expo proved that with patriotism, the Vietnamese people can accomplish all assigned missions despite difficulties and challenges.
