PANO – U19 football squad was defeated 0-7 by Japan at the second round of the International U19 Football Tournament-Nutifood Cup 2014 at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City, on January 8th.
From the first minutes, Japan proved their higher level in both skill and physical strength, while the hosts failed to display their talents.
In spite of creating several opportunities, Vietnamese strikers could not turn them into goals.
Striker Minamito Takumi scored twice while 5 others also scored, for Japan to trounce Vietnam 7-0.
In the earlier match of the day, AS Roma defeated Tottenham 2-1 to lead the tournament with 6 points, followed by Japan and Tottenham (3 points), while Vietnam stands at the bottom of the rankings without any points.
In the next round on January 10th, AS Roma takes on Japan and Vietnam faces Tottenham.
