A ceremony was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on August 31, to commence Vietnam Culture Week, as part of efforts to highlight the close friendship between the two countries.

The Cambodian Minister of Culture and Art, Phoeurng Sackona, and the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Le Khanh Hai, attended the event.

Addressing the function, both acknowledged the significance of Vietnam Culture Week in Cambodia. They said it actively boosts mutual understanding and solidarity between the two nations’ people as well as furthering Vietnamese-Cambodian cooperation, especially in the field of art and culture.

During the ceremony, participants enjoyed an exciting musical and dance performance staged by Vietnamese artists, including traditional songs in Khmer.

Vietnam Culture Week is taking place in the Cambodian cities of Phnom Penh and Siem Reap from August 31 to September 5, featuring concerts and photograph exhibitions on the land and people of Vietnam.
