The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the giant American manufacturer Nike signed a 5 million USD kit deal in Hanoi on Jan. 12.

Under the five-year agreement, starting in 2009, Nike will provide high quality sport products for the men and women national squads, the national futsal team, national junior teams and their coaches.

The national football squad will be also equipped with sport equipment during their training and competition.

VFF Vice President Le Hung Dung said he hoped that the cooperation with Nike would lift Vietnamese football to a new height.

According to Sharon Ong, Nike ASEAN Marketing Director, the cooperation reflects Nike’s commitment to supporting Vietnam ’s young talents and encouraging the nation’s football to conquer new heights.

The national men squad will wear Nike-sponsored uniform in their match against Lebanon within the framework of the Asian Cup 2011’s qualifying round on Jan. 14.
