The event was jointly held by the HCM City’s Department of Tourism, the city’s Youth Cultural House, and the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association (VCCA).
The Vietnamese lunar New Year Festival 2022 will take place from January 16 to 30 via both online and offline formats with various activities featuring unique cultural values, Tet activities, traditional Tet cuisine, folk games, art performances, as well as Vietnamese customs and habits during the festival. Notably, as part of the festival, a Tet Shopping Fair on 2D and 3D online platform will open at website https://tetviet.visithcmc.vn, drawing the participation of nearly 60 enterprises and more than 20 localities across the country.

During the 14-day long festival, domestic and foreign visitors will have an opportunity to experience numerous interesting activities, including taking photos in a space imbued with traditional Tet cultural identity at the city’s Youth Cultural House, Hot Air Balloon Festival in Thu Duc city, boat parade, water sports, so on.
Especially, visitors can join the online photo contest themed “Spring comes to the city.”
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairwoman of the HCM City People’s Committee Phan Thi Thang expressed her delight at the exciting atmosphere on the first days of the New Year 2022 and her belief in the city’s recovery plan from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The festival this year has a great significance for the city and the people. HCM City has officially become a green zone, meaning that the people’s life has gradually returned to normal in accordance with the “safe and flexible adaptation to and effective management of the pandemic” strategy, she added.
She also hoped that the festival will contribute to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values, creating a meaningful cultural playground, meeting the entertainment, shopping and food needs of residents and visitors during the Tet holiday.
