Two music galas will be held at Ho Chi Minh Square in Vinh City on the evenings of May 12 and May 19 to open and close the festival.

During the festival, local authorities will hold flower offering ceremony in front of President Ho Chi Minh’s Monument at Ho Chi Minh Square, and offer incense at Kim Lien relic site and Chung Son Temple in Kim Lien commune of Nam Dan district, the hometown of the late President.

The festival will also include a street festival, a singing competition, a culinary contest on dishes made from lotus, and a photo exhibition showcasing the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, a hero of national liberation, a world cultural celebrity and a historical figure known worldwide.

Performances of Vi-Giam singing, a type of traditional folk music practiced in the Central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh, along with traditional games, will also get underway on this occasion.

The festival also features ceremonies to honor outstanding individuals in 2022 and outstanding contestants of a writing contest on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style. Sports tournaments, including “Fly up Vietnam” hot-air balloon festival and games will be held during the festival.

The Lotus Village Festival is an important political and cultural activity, allowing people from all walks of life to come and show their love and respect for President Ho Chi Minh. It is held to disseminate and educate people about Ho Chi Minh's thought; strengthen the implementation of the "Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style" movement; popularize culture of Lotus Village in particular and Nghe An province in general to domestic and international friends and tourists.

The festival has been held annually in Nghe An province on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday. The event has attracted the participation of people across the country, overseas Vietnamese, and international tourists.
