The impressive information was revealed at a sum-up ceremony and a gala party to close the festival held on March 26 by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Vietnam Women’s Union of Ho Chi Minh City.

The organizer also informed that the month-long Festival entertained locals and tourists with a wide range of meaningful programs, partly honoring the beauty of Ao dai and raising the public’s knowledge of the traditional long dress of Vietnam.

Highlights of the festival, organized on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City and at local schools, included an Ao dai performance in Nguyen Hue pedestrian street with the participation of 3,000 people, an art program entitled Ao dai-Applied fashion trend in 2018, a contest named Charming Ao dai, a forum on Beauty of Vietnamese Ao dai, a seminar looking insight the history of Ao dai of Vietnam and a ceremony to present Ao dai to over 6,000 female workers. 

At the event, the Ho Chi Minh Municipal People’s Committee gave merit certificates to 12 groups and individuals with typical contributions to the successful festival.
