International culinary festival to be held in Ho Chi Minh City
PANO – The Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City, on December 8, held a press conference to introduce an international food festival themed “Multi-senses cuisine.”
The festival will take place from December 15 to 18 at Le Van Tam Park in District 1, attracting the participation of nearly 20 countries with 150 food stalls divided into five areas representing multi-sensory arts such as sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing. The organizing panel will build a common house showcasing specialties of 24 localities and honoring culinary artisans in Ho Chi Minh City. Especially, needy children participating in the event will have chance to taste free food in the festival.
Other activities at the event include the introduction of Vietnamese traditional culinary villages, countries’ beverages as well as food art photographic exhibitions and more. Other mini festivals of “five-star” chefs, countries’ traditional food cooking contest and so on, will be held during the event.
According to Nguyen Thị Anh Hoa, Deputy Head of the municipal Department of Tourism, this year’s event is to improve food quality and help visitors enjoy and taste food as well as promote traditional Vietnamese food culture.
The event is to help participants learn more about diverse culinary cultures of countries in the world, she added.
