The Vietnam International Fashion Week (VIFW) for the autumn-winter season will be held in Hanoi for the first time on November 1-6.
This will become an annual event to take place not only in Ho Chi Minh City (for spring-summer season), but also now in Hanoi (for autumn-winter season) from 2016, said VIFW founder Le Thi Quynh Trang.

The latest collections by domestic and foreign designers will be introduced at the event, offering opportunities for them to develop brand names, she added.
This year’s event is hoped to be very exciting with a variety of fashion workshops and shows held by the city’s trade, investment and tourism promotion centre.
The three-year-old VIFW in Vietnam has helped affirm the names of top Vietnamese designers such as Cong Tri, Phuong My, Thuy Nguyen, Le Thanh Hoa, and Adrian Anh Tuan as well as popular brand names like Canifa, Luala and PNJ.
It also brings the world’s fashion closer to Vietnamese audiences via introducing the collections of Japanese wedding-dress queen Yumi Katsura, Song Zio from the Republic of Korea, Italian Renato Balestra and French designer Julien Fournie.
In 2015, the VIFW welcomed the presence of Japanese legendary designer Kenzo Takada and American top model Sessilee Lopez.
