Ha Giang destined for national Then singing festival
PANO – The sixth national festival on the Then singing and the Tinh instrument will take place in Ha Giang province on May 13-14.
During the festival, participants will explore a cultural space of the Northern mountainous region through unique tunes of the Then singing and the sound of the Tinh instrument performed by hundreds of artists.

The participants are from the ethnic minority groups of Tay, Nung, and Thai living in the provinces of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Dak Nong, and Dak Lak.
Besides art performances, the festival will also include an exhibition of the Then culture, a seminar on preserving and promoting the art, and other activities to boost Then culture-based tourism in these localities.
The festival, as part of efforts to preserve and promote traditional arts, gives an opportunity for artists and artisans to exchange Then melodies representing different localities and introduce the music genre to more Vietnamese people and international friends.
