Major General Bui To Viet, Deputy Political Commissar of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, attended the opening ceremony.
The exhibition features nearly 400 documents, artifacts, and images displayed across seven sections, namely “The Birth of the VPA and Victory over the French Colonialists (1944 - 1954),” “Victory over American Imperialists (1954 - 1975),” “Fatherland Building and Defense (from 1975 to present),” “Defense Diplomacy,” “Historic Milestones (1946 - 1964),” “A Glorious Journey (1965 - 1975),” “Firmly Protecting the Nation's Sky (from 1975 to present).”
The exhibition highlights the founding, development, combat, development, and the "Determined to Fight, Determined to Win" tradition of the heroic VPA. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh and with the support and solidarity of the people, the VPA, armed with rudimentary weapons, rose up fighting for the nation's liberation. Over the past eight decades, the VPA has grown rapidly, triumphing over all invaders and firmly safeguarding the nation's independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
The exhibition also introduces the public to the history and achievements of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, highlighting historic milestones and the glorious journey of the service from different periods. In peacetime, the air force troops continue to uphold its heroic traditions, striving to fulfill the noble mission entrusted by the Party, State, and people to protect the nation’s skies.
In his opening remarks, Maj. Gen. Bui To Viet emphasized that the exhibition is a token of gratitude to and honors the great contributions and sacrifices of the military and the people in Fatherland protection and defense and renewal process. Each document, artifact, and image reflects the sound leadership and direction of the Central Party Committee, President Ho Chi Minh, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense; the growth of the VPA and the Air Defense - Air Force Service. They highlight the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and air force troops in the cause of building and defending socialist Vietnam.

The exhibition runs until January 10, 2025, at the Air Defense - Air Force Museum on Truong Chinh Street, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi.
