Ethnic groups join cultural activities in Hanoi
PANO – More than 100 people of various ethnic minority groups throughout the country are joining a program themed “Mountainous Culture” from January 1 to 31 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay town, Hanoi.
The event also sees the participation of artists from the Vietnam Cheo (Vietnamese Popular Opera) Theater, the Vietnam Puppet Theater, and the Hanoi University Of Culture.

The program is to introduce traditional customs and to give visitors an overview of ethnic culture and typical traditional activities in celebration of the Lunar New Year or Tet festival, contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of the nation as well as enhancing exchange among participants.
The program consists of many activities in praise of Spring and New Year 2018, especially the "Traditional Tea Space" event.
It also includes a performance themed "Cheerful Spring Festival" of the Vietnam Cheo Theater with folk songs.
Additionally, students from the Department of Ethnic Minority Culture under the Hanoi University of Culture will introduce traditions of ethnic groups and the country via their performance of folk songs and traditional folk dances.
