In recent years, Dong Residential Area has actively implemented campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, particularly “All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas,” achieving positive results in improving local living standards and promoting development.
Speaking at the event, the Defense Minister expressed his joy in joining the event and extended his best wishes to delegates and residents. He emphasized President Ho Chi Minh’s words that “In the sky, nothing is more precious than the people. In the world, nothing is stronger than the unity of the people.” Great unity, he noted, is fundamental to national development, linking social classes, ethnic groups, religions, and the Vietnamese community at home and abroad.

He highlighted the Vietnam People’s Army’s commitment to its three core functions, stressing readiness in combat, disaster response, and support for local development. The military has consistently assisted citizens during hardships, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks, contributing to building new-style rural areas and civilized urban communities.
General Phan Van Giang praised Linh Son ward and Dong Residential Area for their solidarity, creativity, and responsibility, noting that the community has eliminated poor and near-poor households, demonstrating the community’s spirit of unity, self-reliance, creativity, and social responsibility. He called on authorities and residents to continue promoting patriotic movements, social welfare, and concrete actions to strengthen unity and local development.

During the festival, the defense leader presented gifts to Dong Residential Area and Linh Son ward. Along with leaders of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, he distributed 100 gift packages to policy families, disadvantaged households, and those affected by storms and floods. Military Region 1, Command 86, and Thai Nguyen province also presented gifts to local households and collectives.
