The center was built by the French Institute of Hanoi, in collaboration with the Hanoi University of Architecture, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and France.

At the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony was co-hosted by the French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary and President of the Hanoi University of Architecture Le Quan, with the attendance of representatives from Francophone organizations and other universities having French language departments and Francophile students in Hanoi.

The center is expected to become a prestigious French Language Center and a place to promote and introduce French culture to students and residents in Hanoi.

Debuted in 2016, the center has opened training courses for 213 students. In addition, the center has organized a number of activities such as the “The Little Prince” project, the French spelling contest, the French Film Festival and more.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary and President of the Hanoi University of Architecture Le Quan signed a commitment to cooperation in human resource training and in promoting French culture. On the occasion, they also awarded prizes to winning students at the French spelling contest.
