Vietnam, Laos to further boost cooperation in youth work
PANO – Politburo member and Standing member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong received a delegation of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union (LPRYU) in Hanoi on September 14.
The LPRYU delegation was in Vietnam to attend the two countries’ youth friendship meeting and the “Following Leaders’ Footprints” project.
At the reception, Mr. Thuong affirmed that this meeting was a meaningful program to contribute to the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022, adding that the mission of the youth unions of the two countries is to maintain, nurture and continue developing this special and faithful solidarity.
He also noted that amid the complicated developments of global and regional situations, it is even more important for the unions to stay united, work more closely together, continue their reforms in a dynamic and creative way, and share experience to further contribute to the development of each nation as well as bilateral relations.
For his part, Monexay Laomouasong, alternate member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Secretary of the LPRYU Central Committee, affirmed that the LPRYU will keep close coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to carry out directions issued by the two countries’ leaders, educate the young on the bilateral traditional relations, increase mutual assistance, and intensify the unions’ cooperation in a practical and effective manner, thus contributing to fostering the relations between the two parties, countries and peoples.
On the same day, the Vietnam-Laos youth friendship meeting and the “Following Leaders’ Footprints” project officially took place in Hanoi.
