Vietnam, Laos reinforce traditional friendship
PANO - The authorities of Son Kim 1 commune, Huong Son district, in association with the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province, on March 27 and 28 held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a “Friendship” road, and provided free health check-ups, and organized exchange activities with local people in Thoong Pe village, Cam Cot district, Bolikhamsay province, Laos.
The activities aimed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of twinning relations between Son Kim 1 commune and Thoong Pe village (2009-2019).
In order to strengthen solidarity and friendship between the two localities, and create conditions to support each other in the fields of economics, culture, society, and defense-security, the Vietnamese commune donated 50 tons of cement to build the road leading to Thoong Pe village; and presented 100 sets of curtains, 50 hammocks, and 200kg of hybrid rice seed (TH 3-5) to needy people in the Lao village.

In addition, doctors of Son Kim 1 healthcare station, in association with the Thoong Pe military-civilian medical station, also provided medical examination, health counseling, and free medicines for more than 150 needy people.
Besides, both sides also organized many exchange activities to strengthen solidarity and cooperation between the two countries' people.
