Lt. Gen. Le Van Han, former Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs, chaired a gathering attended by Lao Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh and Tran Van Tuy, former Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association.

Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed that the "special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation" between Laos and Vietnam is an invaluable asset nurtured by generations through national independence and defense.

Briefing participants on Laos’s socio-economic progress, the Ambassador noted that despite challenges, the economy maintains stable growth under the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. Improvements in culture, education, and healthcare were also highlighted, with the Ambassador emphasizing that Vietnam’s "sincere, effective assistance" remains vital to these outcomes.

The Ambassador praised the Ministry of National Defense’s Liaison Board for the Tradition and Friendship Association of Vietnam - Laos for its initiatives in preserving and promoting the bilateral relationship.

An overview of the event

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, representatives of the Liaison Board extended their best wishes to the Lao Ambassador to Vietnam and other Lao delegates. They expressed their hope that both sides would continue to successfully fulfill the important tasks entrusted by the Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of each country and to the enduring, faithful relationship between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.
