He congratulated Laos on their immense, important attainments across sectors and expressed his belief that under the leadership of their Party and State, Lao people will succeed in building their country more wealthy.
“Vietnam’s consistent policy is respecting and giving the top priority to preserving and developing the special solidarity with Laos. Vietnam will wholeheartedly support the comprehensive reform, national defence, and nation-building efforts of Laos,” he stated.
Built on the successes of the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017, 2018 will be a favourable year for the two countries to reinforce and expand their traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation, and lift their cooperation to the next level, the Vietnamese President said.
He suggested pushing communications campaigns to educate young people on the special solidarity between the two countries, as well as connectivity between the two economies, especially in transport and energy.
PM Thongloun Sisoulith praised Vietnam’s organisation of GMS-6 and CLV-10 and its initiatives to the events and expressed his belief that the summits will be successful.
He told his host that the Party, State and people of Laos are working hard to accomplish the goals set by the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party at its 10th Congress.
He asked the two countries to actively deploy high-ranking agreements based on the outcomes of the annual meeting between the two Political Bureaus and the 40th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee, to accelerate economic connectivity, especially in transport, energy and key cooperative projects.
He expects that the two countries will continue coordinating closely and supporting each other at multilateral forums.
