Lao Defense Ministry supports Vietnam’s COVID-19 prevention and control fund
PANO – The Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Chansamone Chanyalath, on June 23 at the headquarters of the Lao Defense Ministry in Vientiane, handed over 200,000 USD to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung, to support Vietnam’s COVID-19 prevention and control fund.
At the event, the Lao official said that since the fourth COVID-19 outbreak was reported in several provinces in Vietnam, the Lao Defense Ministry has called on all Lao troops to donate money to support Vietnamese people.

The proceeds demonstrate the warm sentiment of the Lao troops for the Vietnamese people, as well as the solidarity and mutual support between the two countries.
Expressing gratitude to the Lao Defense Ministry’s financial aid, the Vietnamese Ambassador described the meaningful gift as great encouragement for Vietnam, affirming that the proceeds will be sent to Vietnam as soon as possible.
