PANO – Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh called on Singapore to provide more favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods to enter its market.

The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister made this call while receiving Senior Minister of State at the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Transport of Singapore Josephine Teo in Hanoi on July 19 afternoon. Ms. Josephine Teo is on her working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, the host proposed that Singapore should facilitate the entry of Vietnamese goods, such as agricultural and aquaculture products, footwear and garment.

He also highlighted the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park as a successful example of cooperation between the two countries and suggesting that the Singaporean Government encourage its businesses to continuously invest in Vietnam, particularly in hi-tech production, aviation, infrastructure and seaport.

The Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides should continue supporting each other in multilateral forums for the sake of the two nations and the region. He affirmed that Vietnam will cooperate closely with Singapore and other ASEAN nations in cementing the bloc’s unity and promoting its central role in regional issues.

For her part, Ms. Josephine Teo assured that Singapore is interested in expanding and deepening its partnership with Vietnam, pledging that she will do her utmost to cement the Vietnam-Singapore partnership in a more reliable and effective manner.
