Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and his Thai counterpart Thanasak Patimaprakorn on August 10 attended an opening ceremony for the Vietnamese Culture Days in Thailand.

The event was held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Thai Ministry of Culture to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties (1976-2016).

According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai, the Huong Sac Viet Nam (Essence of Vietnam) art performance was performed by Vietnamese artists at the ceremony, helping to deepen Thai People and foreigners’ understanding of Vietnam’s culture and people.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Dam and Thanasak Patimaprakorn visited the Sac mau Viet Nam (Vietnamese Colour) exhibition which features the livelihoods of people from every corner of the country.

Along with boosting cultural exchanges between two countries, the Vietnamese Culture Days in Thailand also mark a progress in the two countries’ collaboration with a line-up of projects and common plans for the ASEAN Community.

It will contribute to consolidating relations between the two nations and build a stronger ASEAN Community.

During the culture days, art performances are scheduled to be staged in Nakhon Phanom province where a large number of Vietnamese expats live.
