ASEAN Traditional Music Festival to take place in Vietnam

PANO – The 2015 ASEAN Traditional Music Festival will take place in the central province of Thanh Hoa from August 1^st to 6^th, announced the Department for Arts Performance Management under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism at a recent press conference.

The festival, the first of its kind in Vietnam, will see the participation of ten art troupes from the ASEAN member countries, namely Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Singapore and ASEAN’s partner, the Republic of Korea.

The event will create a chance for artists to meet and exchange experiences, as well as for Vietnam to popularize its cultural values and landmarks to domestic and international tourists.

Accordingly, participating artists will perform solos, musical ensembles and folk performances.

After the opening ceremony on August 1^st at the Lam Son Theatre, the art troupes will perform to entertain locals and tourists at the Stage on Sam Son Beach in Thanh Hoa province.
