With the theme "Building a united, inclusive, and resilient ASEAN amidst global transformations," the ASEAN Future Forum 2025 is an initiative announced by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia in September 2023. This was Vietnam’s first large-scale multilateral initiative, creating a platform for leaders, experts, researchers, businesses, and partners to exchange ideas and propose new initiatives that contribute to shaping ASEAN’s future development and enhancing cooperation between ASEAN and its partners. The ASEAN Future Forum in April 2024 was a major success, attracting strong interest and support from ASEAN countries and the international community.

Overview of the press conference on the ASEAN Future Forum 2025 |
The ASEAN Future Forum 2025 will be one of Vietnam's largest multilateral events this year, highlighting the country’s ambition to play a pro-active and leading role in regional and global cooperation. This event is particularly significant as it coincides with the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, the 30th anniversary of its accession to ASEAN, the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN Community, and the year ASEAN will adopt the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to chair and deliver a keynote address at the forum. To date, more than 500 delegates have registered for in-person attendance, including senior leaders from ASEAN countries and partner nations, leading regional and international scholars, ambassadors, senior ASEAN officials, representatives from international organizations, businesses, and local authorities. A large number of domestic and international journalists are also expected to cover the event.
The ASEAN Future Forum 2025 will include plenary sessions on key global trends impacting ASEAN and the world until 2035, the region's foundational principles for tackling future challenges, sub-regional cooperation for resilience and sustainable development, governance of emerging technologies for comprehensive security, and ASEAN's role in fostering peace and connection in a fragmented world. Alongside these discussions, the forum will also include several important side events.
