They also inspected venues for bilateral high-level meetings and activities for spouses of APEC leaders.

Hotels, convention centers, international press center, and other major venues have so far been ready for the event.

At a meeting following the rehearsal, the State leader lauded the APEC 2017 National Committee, sub-committees, authorities of Da Nang city and Quang Nam province, ministries, agencies, localities and businesses for actively preparing for the APEC Vietnam Year 2017, especially the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, scheduled for November 6-11.

He said all APEC leaders affirmed their upcoming presence at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, which reflects Vietnam’s prestige and member economies’ trust in the success of the event.

Due to complicated security developments in the region and the world, particularly Southeast Asia, he asked for ensuring the most absolute safety to guests.

He asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to partner with units concerned, especially in hotels, to ensure the best services to guest leaders.

The Public Security - Health Care Subcommittee and agencies concerned were required to complete plans for the event with back-up measures for contingency cases.

The reception, materials and logistics sub-committees, and the APEC 2017 National Secretariat must complete and update scenarios to the detail.

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 with major events in Da Nang city and Quang Nam province is an external focus of Vietnam between now and 2020.

Vietnam is expected to welcome around 10,000 delegates, including leaders of 21 APEC member economies, over 2,000 leading corporate executives and nearly 3,000 reporters in the region and the world.
